What are the hurdles?

Let's break our thinking from its traditional structures a little. Which are the hurdles  that supposedly prevent something new from emerging?

It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

So these are the relevant questions:

• What part of the hurdle address uncertainty?
• What part of the hurdle is based on unchallenged assumptions?
• Falsify assumptions to create context for dismantling.

So: How could new models work in this context of successful challenged beliefs?
